Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until very well chilled, then strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice (ideally one large ice cube). Spritz a 1-inch round of grapefruit peel, skin side down, over the surface of the drink and discard. Garnish with a 3- to 4-inch orange peel, spritzed skin side down over the surface of the drink before being added to the cocktail.
